Name: Selene Cruifyx
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Selene is unaware of her sexual orientation due to lack of experience with such matters. However once she matures into her sexuality, she will enjoy the company of both men and women.
Age: Normally Selene is 97 years of age, which is concerned still an adolescence for her kind. She was sealed into immortality at the age of 26. Which is a respectable age for a creature of the lore. She will never age beyond this state until she is nearly a seven hundred years old.
***DEPENDING ON RP THAT AGE WILL CHANGE SO PLEASE ASK***
Class/Status: The Leanan Sidhe carry the title of nobility among those of the Unseelie/Seelie courts. As a dark muse, Selene made her choice to align with the Unseelie at the age of 30. However outside of the fae courts, Selene often keeps her title hidden. Normally posing as a gypsy traveling from town to town in a wagon or with very few belongs.
Physical Description: Leanan Sidhe are always depicted and described as remarkably beautiful creatures. Selene is no exception to this. Her skin is pale perfection, with a faint kiss of peach undertone. The texture of it matching the perfection of its presentation, creamy smooth and supple to the touch. Her form is slender, yet her chest, hips and buttock give clearly defined curves to her figure. Though slender over all, her body is well toned, so that the sculpted musculature can be seen after physical exertion along her stomach, legs and upper arms.
Despite being fit and curvy, Selene is of fae descent. Most fae have hallow bones allowing them the gift of being quite nimble and graceful when they wish it. This natural advantage also puts Selene's body mass at only 90 pounds, considered still rather heavy for the fae.
It is easy to quickly peg Selene as a creature of the lore upon first seeing her. This is due to two major factors. The first being the small pointed ears that normally protrude from her hair about a half an inch at any given time and are often adorned with various chains and piercings. Next would be her eyes. They are silver orbed pools of speckled matter that is in a constant state of motion. Sometimes mixed with a bit of azure, depending upon her mood. They tend to turn ablaze and glow when the muse uses her abilities or feels strong emotion. Her lips and eyes are normally coated with an onyx make up to match her hair. This often stains her lips, making them always appear to have a black tint even when she is not wearing makeup.
Standing at an underwhelming height of 5 foot 5 and 1/2 inches, Selene often wears shoes or boots that are heeled. Her attire varies a great deal depending upon the task at hand and the place she is visiting. However the Muse is known for always managing to have the perfect outfit for the task at hand. Their clothing normally leans towards sultry and revealing to entice their prey.
It is important to note that a muse has a distinct change in appearance when they are starving. Selene's normally onyx hair will slowly wilt away to snow white locks. This is a symbolism of their body being out of balance.
Quirks:
- Fascination bordering on obsession with art, especially jeweled items.
- Obsession with black rose weed tea.
- A deep passion for music and dancing.
- Easily effected by consuming alcohol.
- Quite clumsy with simple everyday tasks.
Morality: Selene has a corrupted set of morals that she keeps to. Lacking the ability to feel deep emotions on her own, she struggles with even simple empathy. She rarely follows the constraints of legality and customs beyond that of the rules laid down by the Unseelie. Even rules of the court are open to interpretation to the Muse if no members of the court are present. If she sees an opportunity to draw closer to a goal, Selene is not above lying. This is not because of pleasure from not following the rules or from an unwillingness to conform.
Instead Selene lacks what others would consider a mortal compass. Or still it is yet to be found as one requires emotions to fully understand the ramification of right from wrong. Such as, that compass would be dependent upon the ability to feel remorse for her actions. Though she is capable of such an act, her ability to feel emotions without feeling it through another being is stunted. Or rather like the volume has been turned down very low. Only when she is faced with something that give her a deep emotional response or feels it through another is she able to experience true emotions.
Personality Strengths/Weaknesses:
- Selene is socially awkward when it comes to one on one interaction. She can be harsh and direct, which people often interrupt as rude.
- Can be very manipulative as she is an empath and at times able to have insight into others personal emotions. Bringing her from one drastic extreme to the other. In a sense she is either hot or she is cold.
- As a muse she is naturally gifted with the arts. This allows her a good platform to relate to others with the same passions.
- Selene is quick to judge others without ever really getting to know them.
- The Unseelie are known to hold grudges. Once she has been wronged, Selene is not quick to forget it.
- It is hard for people to get close to her but once someone has shown they can be trusted, she is loyal to a fault.
- Very independent and strong willed. Some might say stubborn and bull headed.
- Standard fae iron issues.
Skills: Selene is a skilled dancer, plays the violin, fiddle and flute impeccably. Though she rarely uses such tactics, all muse are versed in the art of seduction. Not to mention the Unseelie tend to lean toward such skills sets. However, as Selene has not matured yet into her sexuality, she has not found the full value of this skill.
Likes/Dislikes:
- Enjoys the company elven folk.
- Normally hates vampires as she often hunted by them.
- Greatly enjoys the arts in all forms.
Profession: Selene is bound to the court of the Unseelie as a noble. She is an advisor to Madoc Morfryn known to mortals as Sir Nicolas de Maduc. Madoc rules over the Unseelie Court in a "My word is law" fashion. Very few ever come to be in his good graces or stay alive long enough to stay there long. This is part of the reason that Selene does not spend much time in the Unseelie Courts.
Back-story: The origin of the species name is Gaelic Scottish. Often quoted to meaning the fairy mistress or the fairy sweetheart depending on who you ask. Leanan means the love of my soul or spirit of my inspiration. The Leanan Sidhe are found throughout history, depicted in the art of their victims. There are many different types of Muse as depicted well in Roman mythology. Selene is compelled to inspire love and despair, longing and desire. She teaches the beauty and power of such emotion as it clearly conveyed in the sorrow of her history. Selene was brought in to existence through the death of another. The empty vessel of a creature of the lore, struck down in her prime and set to rest on the waves of the sea created the perfect opportunity for the muse to come forth into the world.
-----Age 245--------
A prophecy had been written and all who knew of its existence feared the day it would come to past. "The wind will die out into nothingness. The earth still and trembling, murmuring into the deafening silence, as the shadow of eternal death falls upon the land.”
The tension between the two sides had been building for centuries; however it finally appeared that the cries of war where just around the corner. All creatures of the aligned light and dark or otherwise could sense the pressure that has spread across the land like a plague. Even the land it’s self seemed to soak in the tainted aura of festering hate. Meadows began to wither and turn to dust. The darker reaches of the forests took on a life of their own, as even the vegetation began to acquire a taste for blood.
Despite the hate for one another the King and Queen of the two opposing Fae courts had agreed upon a secret conference in hopes of finding something to restore the tranquility between the dark and light. Most never would have guessed, but the two leaders had been well aware that a battle would be far from productive for them on any front. After spiting venom back and forth at one another, and the deaths of a few of their men, during the hostile negotiations an agreement was struck. The contract had been signed by both with a pen of fate. With the bargain set the light and dark leaders set off to put their sinister plans into action.
Each court would sacrifice one of their own, one of their most powerful, to display as an example to the rest of would happen should tensions continue to rise. Selene had been picked from the Unseelie Courts, the sworn oath to strip the Muse of her essence signed in blood. Nyrah had been chosen from the Seelie side, the Queen's very own daughter. The death sentence had been struck and the impending doom of the victims hang heavy in the air as the courts parted ways. Their essence was to be stripped, leaving them nothing more than immortal humans.
Though not a word was spoken outside of that chamber, whispers flew through each court, speculations about who the victims were plagued day to day chit chat. The Seelie moved first, Nyrah disappearing from her seat at her mother's side. Word of the Princess' 'death' traveled quick and even unto the Unseelie, which raised tensions in the Court. Fae fought, blood was shed, and a witch hunt of offerings for the one to be sacrificed surface. The Unseelie Court was in pandemonium.
The door to the King's library opened slowly, the Muse being led in by a guard on either side of her. An ominous silence filled the room as the King rose from his desk. Selene was pushed further into the room, nothing had been told to the girl. In fact, the guards had said nothing more than, "The King requires your presence." The door was slammed behind the trio and Avery stepped out from behind the column, just in front of the king. Anyone who was anyone knew who Avery was. She was the death dealer for the Unseelie and had been given that specific nickname young in life... even though she was the King's daughter.
To say the Muse was irritated by this sudden need for an audience with the King was an understatement.
Selene had never much cared for the Unseelie King. When she had been appointed to a position in the court as an advisor, it had taken all her will just to hold her tongue. When she had been reassigned to field work half way around the world, Selene had been ecstatic. The fact he had felt the need to send out a few of his hang henchmen to collect her only increased her distaste for the tactless leader of dark.
Selene had been no stranger to the poisonous, lethal effect of the rising hostilities between the courts. And the effects of such a demonic aura sweeping over the enchanted realms where it was being allowed to feistier. There was no doubt in the Muse’s mind the king had only called upon because of the situation. If only she had been in tuned enough to become aware to the level of assisting he sought from her. But the sight of Avery was just confirmation of what she had already sensed as Selene had been escorted in. The stereotypical dark princess came tracing into the view of the Muse like a walking disease that brought only death and discord. Everything that the Muse despised all rolled up into one pretty package, wrapped in black on black leather.
The King drew a crooked smirk across his face as his gaze honed in on the Muse. There had been whispers of the sacrifice flying over both the courts. But it was just rumor. Wasn't it? After the curse had been laid upon the Muse, Avery stepped forward. She carried no shackles, she had drawn no weapon and she certainly did not seem to have any back up. Avery stalked forward, her steps slow and full of confidence as her icy orbs locked on her prey. Yes, prey. Those who had been handed a death sentence by their king were nothing more than mangey dogs for Avery to dispose of. By looks, she was nothing to be afraid of. Slender and on the shorter side of fae; however, she was all muscle and had years of training to back her bad ass up. Avery walked a slow circle around Selene, the guards still on either side of her, they too seeming to hold their breath as she sized the Muse up. With the flick of a hand, she waved the two away and stepped into Selene's personal bubble. "Move it." The words were lowly spoken and carried a sickening danger behind each syllable.
